ISNA Endorses New Guidelines for Women Friendly Mosques

ISNA Leadership Development Center (ILDC) plans to distribute a guide entitled "Women Friendly Mosques and Community Centers: Working Together to Reclaim Our Heritage."

The guide is designed to educate Muslim community leaders about the right of Muslim women to enjoy equal access to the Islamic center activities. It was published through a collaborative effort of the Islamic Social Services Associations (ISSA) and Women in Islam (WII), and endorsed by several national Muslim organizations, including ISNA.

Drawing from the Quranic teachings, and the practices of Prophet Muhammad, the guide urge improvements in women's access to mosque facilities, and greater involvement of women in decision making and mosque governance.
